K-POP Romeo & Juliet

Book, Music & Lyrics: Joe Partridge

A contemporary reimagining of the Shakespeare tragedy through a K-POP enthused score for KS2.

Coming Soon in April 2026!

Two households, both alike in dignity—but not as you know it! The Montegues and Capulets are Verona City’s top idol rivals, competing in the world’s biggest K-pop championship. Only one team can win the crown, and tensions are high.

Romeo is a natural performer, but lately he’s distracted by fame and social media, while Juliet is the Capulets’ secret weapon—precise, talented, and full of heart. When they meet on the dance floor, their chemistry sparks a secret partnership, blending Romeo’s wild style with Juliet’s flawless choreography.

As the semi-finals heat up, rivalries, rules, and backroom deals threaten to tear them apart. Mercutio is hurt, the judges intervene, and the feud between Montegues and Capulets threatens to destroy everything. But Romeo and Juliet refuse to play by the rules—they take a stand, performing together against the odds.

In a finale of daring moves and heart, the champions are crowned, the city erupts, and the rivalry is left unresolved… because for never was there a story of more woe than that of Juliet and her Romeo.

K-pop Romeo & Juliet is a new high-energy musical theatre production designed for Key Stage 2 / Year 6 students. Blending K-Pop inspired performance with dynamic storytelling, it encourages teamwork, creativity, and confidence while exploring themes of rivalry, choice, and collaboration.
